Plantronics Headsets to the rescue

May 5th, 2010 by Super Headsets

How to make someone who is on the telephone constantly, happy.

A month ago Sandra was ready to quit.

By the end of the week she would go home, literally in tears because of neck pain and an aching left shoulder.

I asked her boss if he would allow me to introduce a Plantronics CS 55 Wireless Headset with the HL10 Lifter on a trial basis for a month. No change, and I would take it out.

I installed it in front of a rather apprehensive girl ,  at lunch time three  Friday”s ago.

The following Wednesday, I think, she phoned me to report her neck pain had disappeared. She thanked me profusely. She was loving it.

By the end of last week,  she reported the pain in her shoulder was almost all gone and she was using her arm in ways she hadn’t been able to in years.

The check is in the mail.  :0).

Plantronics Wireless Headset Troubleshooting

December 16th, 2009 by Super Headsets

How to fix…

WIRELESS PHONE HEADSET STATIC

If all of a sudden your headset gives you static and you can’t hear anything else but,  all likely hood the radio frequency between the base and the headset has been disturbed.

The following procedure applies to all Plantronics Wireless  Headset Systems.

This inconvenience doesn’t happen very often (once with me in 5 years of constant use) and isn’t very hard to correct.

1)       With the wireless headset still in the charging stand hold the two buttons on the headset, the black
dial on the top: and the silver button on the front.

2)        Hold them both for about 5 seconds, or a green light on the headset flashes. Release the buttons.

3)       Remove the headset from the charging stand and hold just the silver button for  about 5 seconds.

4)    Disconnect the AC power cord for 5 seconds, then reconnect.

5)    Congratulations.

WHAT COMPANIES COULD DO IN TOUGH TIMES

March 23rd, 2009 by Super Headsets

Given the realities of slowing economic times, companies are looking inward to find answers to how to reduce costs.

Let us focus on the Customer Development/Service Department area.

One alternative is to cut staff.

If the financial economic initiatives taken by central governments are enough to bottom the cycle, that means a rehiring program would be necessary, sometime in the future, to re-establish the previous levels of business activity.

What if productivity with the existing staff could be improved with a modest investment and a shockingly short pay back period?

Wireless phone headsets, in a commissioned study by Plantronics, the major phone headset manufacturer, researcher H B Maynard Co. concluded the advantages derived from adding Plantronics hands free headsets to conventional office telephones, substantially improved productivity, and call volume while reducing employee downtime and physically related discomfort from extended time on the phone.

Some 2000 phone transactions were observed in a time/motion study etc. , etc. .

The bottom line?

Productivity increased some 43%.

The most popular wireless headset system is the Plantronics CS 55. The wireless feature was not necessarily the main distinguishing feature in the study, as Planrtonics do offer and did utilize some of their extensive number of corded phone headsets, they offer.

The technological and practical advantages of the wireless system, notwithstanding the higher initial cost still means, even with only a 25% productivity improvement, it would result in a pay back within months , if not weeks.

When the economy turns around is conjecture. The resolve to turn it around remains firm.

Customer Service Departments are more valuable than ever.

Why not make them more efficient.

Hands Free Phone Headsets –why wouldn’t you?

February 24th, 2009 by Super Headsets

We in North America spend a lot of time talking on the telephone.

Some 82 million office workers in the USA spend a very significant part of their day drumming up business that way.

Some 50 million don’t use any style of a phone headset although some 31 million suggest they are interested in obtaining one.

Medical reports demonstrate the extended use of the traditional telephone hand set results in suffering from neck, shoulder, and upper back muscle tension.

Expressed more dramatically, attorneys, reporters, consultants, small business owners, sales and customer support, engineering , and financial specialists, including both management and executive positions; using the phone at least 3 hours per day, reduced the negative, painful results by up to 41%, just by changing to a headset.

As neck and back muscle tension is known to be one of the most common ailments in the office today, hands free headsets are proving to be cost effective, and morale building.

As impressive, the manufacturer of Plantronics corded and wireless headsets commissioned a study that had astounding observations.

With a comparable scientific study, a time and motion study of one –hand versus two-handed typing was included with observations generally between hand set users then with using hands free headsets.

The conclusions showed the Plantronics, hands free headset equipped group showed an overall increase in productivity of some 43%.

Improved service recorded, with reduced error rates. Headset equipped personnel placed an average of 16 more calls per day.

The headset group also reported less fatigue, fewer phone-related physical complaints, and higher morale.

Plantronics has been providing a wide variety of corded and wireless headsets for call centers, offices, small businesses, home offices and homes , for decades.
